LOCAL MEP Robert Evans joined the campaign to save the historic Northwood and Pinner Community Hospital when he visited the threatened institution on Friday, December 1.
Mr Evans said: "This is a local community hospital with a proud history. There is even a covenant on the land that prevents it being used for anything else."
At present, part of the building is boarded up as Hillingdon Primary Care Trust (PCT), which runs the community hospital, says it is £43 million in debt.
Mr Evans continued: "The Government is committed to community hospitals and this local hospital needs to be preserved and modernised, not destroyed, by the PCT.
"I urge the members of the PCT to work closely with the Government and local people to ensure that this popular facility is maintained and refurbished."
