TWO men were shot when a gunfight broke out among some of up to 60 eastern European men who had gathered at Vale Farm sports ground in Sudbury on Tuesday night.
The first victim, a 35-year-old, was found in the garden of a house in Harrowdene Road, North Wembley.
Police said he was taken to a "west London hospital" where as we went to press yesterday (Wednesday) he was still in a serious condition.
Later, police were called to a different hospital where they found another man also suffering serious gunshot wounds.
Officers went to the sports ground off Watford Road at 9.30pm and searched the area, finding a "number of weapons".
Yesterday afternoon they would give no further details of what was discovered.
As we went to press, there had been no arrests and inquires were ongoing. Both victims were in a serious but stable condition.
The police's Trafalgar central shootings team has appealed for witnesses or anyone else with information to call 020 8217 7377.
A spokeswoman for Vale Farm Sports Centre said: "The shooting took place behind the sports centre, not inside, and we are open for business as usual."
