Join Trinity Orchestra with local singers and young dancers for a complete concert performance of the magical and well-known opera Hansel and Gretel.
Composer Engelbert Humperdinck called it a fairy-tale opera, with the witty subject matter appealing to all ages. His score wonderfully depicts the famous Brothers Grimm story with beautiful melodies, catchy folk tunes and sumptuous orchestration.
The performance, sung in English, will feature a host of celebrated professional singers, including local mezzo-soprano Victoria Simmons. The orchestra is also thrilled that chorus singers and young dancers from the Harrow area will be joining them on stage to help bring the performance to life.
It will be conducted by the orchestra’s Music Director, John Andrews, who has worked with English Touring Opera, Garsington Opera and Opera Holland Park among others.
Described as “tremendously accomplished musicians” by the famous cellist Paul Watkins, the experienced players of Trinity Orchestra have been delighting Harrow audiences for nearly four decades.
Ticket holders can find out more about the music in a free pre-concert talk with conductor John Andrews at 6.30pm.
