A story of family life in England during the war years, experience the despair and humour that got the nation through the dark years as it finishes with a triumphant VE Day party. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to sing along and have a laugh, so get your vocal chords at the ready.

Steel Panther
Are you ready to rock? You better be, because the American glam-metal band has just announced their biggest UK tour this month. The LA-based rock band’s catchy lyrics, flamboyant outfits and outrageous hairstyles have stood the test of time, with all their albums debuting at number one on the Billboard Comedy Album Charts. Their latest album, All You Can Eat, shot to the top of UK Album Chart and they have been joined on stage by rock legends such as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Paul Stanley of KISS.

The Fureys
The legendary Irish rock band will come down to Hayes for a pre-St Patrick’s day music extravaganza. They will be performing their hit folk songs such as I Will Love You, Sweet 16 and The Green Fields of France. The band has been entertaining audiences worldwide for 37 years with a celebrity fan base of former prime minister Tony Blair, Ireland president Michael D Higgins and former Australian prime minister John Howard. Along with their well-loved tunes, they will also be performing songs from their new album, The Times They are a Changing.

Business of Murder
Stone, a sombre man, invites television playwright Dee to his flat on the premise of discussing a script. Once there, she is surprised when her secret lover superintendent Hallett turns up for a different reason. As the plot twists, Stone’s true motive becomes clear. A true murder mystery, this psychological thriller play is brought to you by Middle Ground Theatre Company. The production, written by Richard Harris, has had a successful nine-year run in the West End. An all-star cast includes Robert Gwilym, a regular in drama series Casualty, Paul Opaic, who has starred in Emmerdale, and actor Joanna Higson.

Trinity Orchestra
Renowned international clarinet player Collin Lawson will be performing Mozart’s stunning symphony, Clarinet Concerto. The piece, composed in 1880, is a celebration of student life. Collin, who is also director of London’s Royal College of Music, is an international gem having toured extensively worldwide. Conducted by acclaimed guest composer Richard Dickens, the performance will also feature Brahm’s light and airy Academic Festival Overture and Shostakovich’s World War Two-inspired Symphony No 9. A pre-concert talk at 7pm is confirmed for those wanting to know more about the evening’s music.
