Everyone was agreed – this was the year when any one of five or six couples could have won Strictly Come Dancing 2014. The level of dancing was such that the outcome was wide open, especially given the shock exit of bookies’ favourite Pixie Lott.
In the event, it was TV presenter Caroline Flack who lifted the glitterball aloft, with professional dance partner Pasha Kovalev. Everyone who witnessed her win against Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, DJ and TV presenter Mark Wright, and Blue singer Simon Webbe would gladly watch it again – and now they can, as Strictly Come Dancing: The Live Tour comes to Wembley.
The live shows will be hosted by It Takes Two’s Zoe Ball and the fab-u-lous Craig Revel Horwoodis head judge, with the 2008 winner, actor Tom Chambers, and his pro partner Camilla Dallerup. Frankie Bridge had to pull out after announcing she was pregnant, so her replacement is Rachel Stevens, the S Club 7 singer.

Details: 0844 815 0815, ssearena.co.uk Simon Webbe, singer with Blue “I thought my experience with Blue would be a help in handling the pressures but it was a totally different experience. Gradually I started to relax. And that was down to Kristina (Rhianoff, his professional partner). I said yes to the tour because I love life on the road. It’s what I’m used to. The only difference is that I’ll be letting my body speak rather than my voice.“ Alison Hammond, TV presenter “I certainly didn’t have to think twice about the offer to dance with Aljaz again on tour. I was knocked out of the show on the Saturday; it meant I wouldn’t get to dance in Blackpool which was a real disappointment. So all day Sunday I was gutted and then on the Monday I was booked for the tour. It's going to be great fun to strut my stuff all across the country!“ Mark Wright, TV presenter and radio DJ “Strictly was a challenge for me from the beginning and it’s turned into the best journey ever. It’s all been possible because of Karen (Hauer, his professional partner) who has been the best teacher I could have asked for. I want to keep dancing. I’ve never performed in public before. When it comes to performing in enormous arenas, I’ll feel like a rock star.
Caroline Flack, TV presenter and Strictly 2014 winner “I always knew Pasha wouldn’t be going on the Strictly tour because he has a theatre show of his own. But I didn’t want Strictly to finish so they’ve paired me with Tristan MacManus (who partnered Jennifer Gibney on the TV show). I’ve been astonished by the popularity of Strictly. I was buying some trainers from a cool guy in a shop in east London recently and he suddenly said: ‘Shouldn’t you be learning your waltz?’. It’s no exaggeration to say this has been the best experience of my life. It’s given me a new belief in myself, a greater self-confidence.“
