St Peter’s Centenary Festival, this week, aims to look both forward and back, and the photographic exhibition constituting part of the celebrations will call to mind the great times which are to be appreciated and remembered.
The exhibition charts a course from the church’s beginnings, with the first sod turning ceremony at the time of its foundation, to the present day, paying homage to its integral role in the welfare of the local community.
Additionally, the festival will commemorate the legacy of the Reverend Simpson, the first vicar of St Peter’s, who served as chaplain to the armed forces in the First World War and later became a royal chaplain.
St Peter’s Centenary Festival is at St Peter’s Church, Sumner Road, Harrow, from Monday, May 27 to Saturday, June 1.
