If you’re a painter, musician, dancer or director aged between 18 and 25 and ready to take your artistic career to the next level, then Harrow Arts Centre is looking for you.

HAC is searching for its first ever Young Associate Artist as part of a project that aims to support you in the early stages of your career by developing the artistic practice, skills and experience you need to work in the arts industry.

Whether you’re a performer or a visual artist, you will be offered a package that includes professional mentoring, training, rehearsal or studio space, regular performance or exhibition opportunities and more.

While you work with HAC for a year from September 2012 to August 2013, you will also be helped to achieve the Gold Arts Award, a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification worth 35 UCAS points.

“We want to support young artists to develop both their work and a sustainable career, and by offering support like this we’ll be able to help someone taking their first steps down that path,” says Cate Gordon, participation programmer at HAC.

“It’s a really exciting project for us, bringing in new ideas and inspiring work to HAC and I’m really looking forward to working with them. The challenge will be selecting the person to work with; there are so many talented young people in Harrow, I know it’s going to be a really difficult decision!”
