A light garden of snowdrops have been decorating Harrow since being switched on in St Ann’s Road.
The lights will continue to brighten the street throughout the festive season.
They have been purchased with money from the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund which seeks to help struggling town centres on the outskirts of the capital.
Councillor Keith Ferry, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “These lights are a great way to celebrate Diwali and the will make the town centre very festive.
“The town centre has so much to offer and we now call on residents to do their bit too, by coming down and supporting local traders.
“We are promoting what these centres have to offer and making them stand out from the crowd to attract shoppers and help the traders flourish.”
