Seven students from Stanmore College came second in a national enterprise competition on Monday.
The business studies students at the Elm Park college took part in the Market Makers competition.
The contest saw students from across the country develop a business using a virtual enterprise software system.
The Stanmore College group developed a marketing company called BonkerZ which provides services to other businesses, such as creating Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, websites and posters.
The seven students, Thomas Rance, Krishan Lalji, Tariq Williams, Jay Vekaria, Chris Lewinson, Kadeem Ferguson and Arham Khan, then attended the competition’s final on Monday.
The final took place at the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London, and saw the students showing off PowerPoint presentations about their businesses.
At the end of the day the team was amazed to learn that they had come second behind a team from Nottingham who created a child protection GPS tracking app.
