The chairman of the Football Association attended a community football tournament yesterday.
David Bernstein visited Harrow School for the tournament which was designed to promote community cohesion.
It saw teams from local Afghan, Somali and Pakistani youth groups play against boys from Harrow School on the school’s Football Lane pitches.
The event was hosted by the school, and by Mothers Against Gangs, a group formed earlier this year.
Trophies were awarded by Sky News presenter, Gillian Joseph, who is the patron of Mothers Against Gangs, and by former England player, Brendon Batson.
After the tournament the teams shared home-cooked foods prepared by some of the Somali and Afghan mothers.
Harrow Police’s Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Dal Babu, said: "This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the excellent work of the Mothers Against Gangs project.
“We are grateful to Harrow School and are honoured that David Bernstein, Gillian Joseph and Brendon Batson attended in person to see what was a celebration of community cohesion and sport in Harrow."
