A funeral director in Belmont Circle has set up a ‘memory tree’ in the window of his shop.
James Mooney-Dutton, of James Funeral Service, hopes that people who have lost loved ones will leave personal Christmas messages on tags attached to the tree.
Mr Mooney-Dutton said: “After the loss of a loved one, Christmas can be a difficult time evoking a mixture of emotions.
“One way in which loved ones can be remembered is by leaving a personal Christmas message on our memory tree, and we are inviting family and friends to participate using our hand-decorated tags.
“The messages may celebrate memories of Christmases past, reflect the personality of the loved one, recall favourite sayings or simply remember their name in writing.
“The tags will be placed on the tree alongside a variety of angel decorations in loving remembrance.”
The service is free of charge and the tags can either be collected from the Kenton Lane shop or posted.
