An X Factor star from Pinner will perform at the switching on of Harrow town centre’s Christmas lights.
Kye Sones, who appeared on the TV talent show, will perform four songs on a stage outside the Royal Oak pub in St Ann’s Road on December 1.
The entertainment will start at 4pm with Radio Northwick Park warming the crowd up, followed with a performance by Harrow singers, Mitsotu.
The lights will be switched on at 5pm by Harrow’s mayor, Councillor Nizam Ismail.
Cllr Keith Ferry, portfolio holder for planning and economic development on Harrow Council, said: “Kye did Harrow proud during his time on the X Factor and we’re delighted that he’ll be joining us to launch the town centre’s Christmas countdown.
“Supporting the town centre and local businesses is a top priority for the council, they are at the heart of our communities and we want them to thrive.
“I hope that the entertainment on offer will show people what else in on offer in the town centre.
“It’s sure to be a great evening and I hope Harrow residents turn out in force to join the festivities and keep coming back to the town centre throughout December.”
Funding for the Christmas lights came from Boris Johnson's Outer London Fund which aims to help revive struggling outer London town centres.
