Harrow is the sixth best place in the country to send your child to primary school, according to a report from education watchdog Ofsted.
The annual report of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills rates Harrow Borough Council among the best authorities in the country for providing children with good quality primary education.
According to the figures, 89 per cent of children in the borough attend schools rated good or outstanding.
The best place to send your child to school is Camden where 92 per cent of children are at schools rated good or outstanding.
The worst is Coventry where only 42 per cent fall into this bracket.
Shadow portfolio holder for schools, Councillor Janet Mote, said: “We have known for many years that Harrow is served by a number of excellent schools, and this new report proves that to be the case.
“Congratulations are due to the staff and pupils of all our schools, not just for maintaining such a high standard, for also for their constant striving for improvement.
“I know a number of our schools very well, and I’m sure there will be no resting on laurels from their point of view.”
Cllr Mote added: “The improvement of our schools is something Harrow Borough Council is committed to on a cross-party basis, so I know the present Labour administration will do all it can to ensure these high standards are both maintained and built on.”
