Two men killed in a high speed crash on the M1 in the early hours of Monday morning have been named by police.
Gulzar Ahmed, 22, and Mohammed Rahman, 24, both from east London, were killed in the crash involving two black BMWs near the Watford junction of the motorway.
The men were the driver and front seat passenger of one of the cars. Two other men suffered serious injuries and four more in the other car were also injured.
Police closed off the M1 southbound between junctions four at Watford and five for Edgware until midday while investigation work was carried out.
The closure wreaked havoc with rush-hour traffic travelling into north London.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until March.
