A bank manager will be spending time behind bars next month to raise money for charity.
Mahesh Patel, counter manager at Halifax's Edgware branch, will be locked up at Wealdstone Police Station on March 22 - and released when people 'bail' him with a minimum of £1,000 for St Luke’s Hospice in Kenton Road.
The event is part of the bank’s initiative to help Harrow charities and the community.
Mr Patel said: “There is a first time for everything.
“I’m a little bit nervous but it’s a bit different but I’m sure it’s going to be lots of fun.”
Staff at the bank are hoping to raise at least £1,500 for the hospice.
Customer advisor Pushpa Hirani, who is organising the event, said: “We have already started raising money.
“Yesterday we did a charity breakfast and we are looking to hold a quiz night at the beginning of March at Blue Ginger Restaurant, in Kenton Road.”
