Adventurer and television presenter Bear Grylls is supporting plans to redevelop the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
The hospital's governing trust has applied for planning permission from Harrow Borough Council for a complete overhaul of the site.
Mr Grylls is an official ambassador of the RNOH charity redevelopment appeal which aims to raise £15 million for state of the art equipment and new facilities.
The money will pay for a new family accommodation unit, Princess Eugenie House, enhanced imaging equipment and a children’s unit.
A decision is expected on March 21.
