A five year old boy died after a traffic collision in Wembley yesterday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at 4.45pm following a collision between a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian on Empire Way.
London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance also attended.
The boy, who was a student at Preston Manor school, was taken to St Mary's hospital where he later died and the next of kin were informed.
The driver stopped at the scene and no arrests were made.
Matthew Lantos, head teacher of Preston Manor, said: “Everyone at Preston Manor School is shocked and saddened by this tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time.
“The school will be doing everything possible to support other children and families at the school.”
An investigation has been launched by the Road Death Investigation Unit at Alperton.
