The leader of the Conservative group has been voted in as leader of Harrow Borough Council this evening.
At an extraordinary meeting of Harrow council, members voted for Councillor Susan Hall to become the new leader of the authority following the removal of Cllr Thaya Idaikkadar.
The final vote for the leadership was between Cllr Hall, who received 31 votes, and leader of the Labour group Cllr David Perry, who got 24. There were five abstentions.
For the leadership vote, seven members of the Independent Labour Group, lead by Cllr Idaikkadar, voted for Susan Hall.
Earlier in the evening there was an overwhelming vote for the removal of Cllr Idaikkadar as leader, with 47 members in favour of the motion, ten against and three abstentions.
It is expected Cllr Hall will announce her cabinet and portfolio holders tomorrow.
