Pharmacies in Harrow have teamed up with the council to offer advice on alcohol before the festive season.
The collaboration with Harrow Borough Council is part of national Alcohol Awareness Week, which begins on Monday.
People will be able to find out more information from their pharmacists about the dangers of too much alcohol consumption and its possible health risks during the festive period.
Drinking too much alcohol can increase a person’s risk of a stroke, diabetes and cancer and the council has made the reduction of long-term alcohol related conditions a priority of its Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
On Saturday November 16 people will be able to get more information about the week of action at a council information stand in the St George’s Shopping Centre from 11am to 4pm.
