The council says it will do all it can to help traders in a shopping centre due to close in the New Year.
The comments come after Business owners of InShops centre, Wealdstone handed in the petition to Harrow Borough Council calling for help.
Cabinet member for business Cllr Kamaljit Chana said: "We want a healthy business environment in Wealdstone, and are doing all we can to help the traders.
“We are providing them with details of other places they can rent in Wealdstone and have also put them in touch with a number of commercial lettings agents.
“Both the council and Harrow in Business have met with traders on a number of occasions to offer them advice.
“We have also written to the owners of the shopping centre, and I would be more than happy to meet with all the parties involved to see if there are any additional ways in which the Council can assist or provide support."
