A zimmer frame refashioned into a Christmas tree was one of dozens of festive designs that transformed the inside of a church.
All Saints’ Church in Uxbridge Road, Harrow, encouraged members of the community to donate decorated Christmas trees and they were amazed by the response.
Most had traditional designs with a few quirks, but some had chosen a more unorthodox style including a zimmer-frame that had been turned into a festive tree.
Reverend Jody Stowell was delighted with all the donations and believes that the event has brought the community together.
She said: “This is the second time we have done this, we have had a lot of schools send their trees which has been great.
“All the trees have come from so many different places in the community and it is a way of drawing them in and connecting them together and it is lovely.
“Our events team have done a fantastic job in generating community and Christmas spirit. This shows what we are to locals and we are drawing everyone in, it has brought a smile to a lot of faces.”
The festival will be held over two weekends with a carol service next weekend bringing it to a close.
