A nine-year-old girl did not let her fractured ankle hold her back when she raised almost £1,000 in a charity walk.
Rasia Ruparelia, who lives in Edgware, had entered the 5km Electric run in Wembley to support Breast Cancer Care.
But just weeks before the race, she fell and fractured her ankle.
It looked like she might not be able to run, but doctors at the Clementine Churchill Hospital loaned her a wheelchair for the day.
Her mother, Krishna Ruparelia, said: “At the time of the accident she was very upset and realised that she might not be able to take part in the run.
“We went to the Clementine Churchill Hospital and at the door of the hospital were offered a wheel chair to get us around the hospital.
“After we went home, Raisa insisted she wanted to take part in the run so we asked if we could borrow the wheelchair. Raisa was over the moon when they said yes.”
On the night, Rasia took part alongside her parents and brothers, Riyan, 12, and cousin Kush, 14, all wearing neon outfits and holding glow sticks.
Rasia said: “Breast Cancer Care is a fantastic cause and I am so pleased for the support from my family and the hospital.
“I set myself a goal of raising £1,000 and with the support of the local community I hope to be able to reach this.”
