People living in a block of flats plagued by leaks say their housing association is ignoring maintenance problems.
Residents of Oak Court, on the corner of Pinner Road and Station Road, North Harrow have been dealing with leaking ceilings for nearly two years.
Despite constant complaints to Genesis Housing Association, which manages the block, nothing has been done to fix the problems permanently.
Jas Rai, 40, said: “It’s just so frustrating and annoying. I have lived here since the block was finished six years ago and there have been constant problems.
“I first noticed the leaks about two years ago and I have reported it but nothing has been done about it.
“We’ve been told there was going to be something done about it but we are still waiting."
The 40-year-old says there is no communication between tenants and the housing association, who he accuses of dragging their feet.
He added: “But as soon as we are a day late with rent or paying our maintenance fees they are on the phone demanding payment. It just isn’t fair.
“These are our homes and we don’t want this kind of stress when we get in from a day’s work. You don’t want problems like this.”
Chantelle Powell, 31, who moved into her top floor plat last year, said: “The lack of communication is the most frustrating thing.
“We just don’t know what is going on. I have sent countless emails but I just keep getting passed on to another person all the time.
“It’s just very stressful because whenever it rains you are constantly worried the flat will be flooded.
A Genesis housing spokeswoman said: “Genesis carried out initial repairs work to the roof at Duke Court last year, in response to requests from residents who said that water was leaking through some of the property ceilings.
“When the leaks started recurring several months later, we carried out an inspection and have booked a specialist roofing contractor to do an in-depth survey of the roof next week.
“The contractor will carry out repairs on the day and make further recommendations if required for fully resolving the issue.
“We’re aware that this has been a complex and ongoing issue, exacerbated by the recent wet weather, and would like to apologise to residents for any inconvenience caused."
They added they are working hard to resolve matters as quickly as possible and will keep residents informed on progress.
