Secondary school pupils got the chance to quiz the shadow minister for education Tristram Hunt MP.
The shadow secretary of state for education visited Bentley Wood High School for Girls with Parliamentary Candidate Uma Kumaran yesterday.
Pupils grilled the pair on a range of topics including engaging young people in politics and education reforms.
Ms Kumaran said: “It’s a pleasure to have visited my former school to speak to politics students and first time voters about the importance of engaging with British politics.
“Speaking to them as a past pupil to now being their prospective MP is quite a journey to have been able to share with them.”
