Creating new flavours of tea earned a school’s young enterprise team a top prize in a capital-wide competition.
Kingsbury High School’s Young Enterprise team, Evalesco, won the Young Enterprise West London Final, held at the University of West London last week.
The team were awarded the best company price for their venture, which produced original blends of blueberry with tulsi and aloe vera tea and orange blossom and ginger tea.
Pupil and managing director of the company Zoe Yerolemou said: “I am so proud of everyone in the team and of all the hard work they have contributed along this journey.
“Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is a success. We are that success.”
The group was commended for its business report, marketing, passion, teamwork, and informative trade stand.
Headteacher Jeremy Waxman said: “I am so glad that I was there for the moment that the team found out that they won. It was priceless.”
The school will now battle it out against schools from across the capital next month at the Citibank headquarters.
