As I have mentioned many times it is my objective to make Harrow the Safest Borough in London.
I am delighted to report that for the month of April, Harrow had the lowest amount of crime per 1,000 population in the whole of London. This is a massive achievement and puts us well on track to becoming the safest borough in London.
On Wednesday May 21, I visited the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre, in Palmerston Road, Wealdstone, to launch the opening of a new police surgery. This surgery will be open to members of the public to report any matters to a police officer in an environment outside of a police station.
This will hopefully give people more confidence in coming forward to report matters to us and we are excited about the official opening on Tuesday, 3 June. From this date, members of the public are invited to drop in, every first Tuesday of every month, from 12 noon till 1pm.

Good work by my officers
On Saturday May 18, response team officers on patrol found four men in the back garden of a property, up to no good. Before they were able to commit any offences they were disturbed, making off on foot. After a foot chase all four men were detained and subsequently arrested for being in enclosed premises. This was excellent work by my officers and their actions may have prevented a burglary on our borough.
On Monday May 20, a man from Hazeldine Drive, Pinner was arrested at his home address for failing to appear for the offence of assaulting a police officer. As police arrived, he tried to get away by jumping out of his first floor window. After a short foot chase he was detained and taken into custody where he was kept to attend court.
