A milkman who has delivered pints to the people of Pinner for nearly 20 years will be ending his round.
Adrian Pledger has delivered milk to the people in the area since 1995 and will be retiring this week.
The 66-year-old and fellow float driver David Mustoe will be leaving their Dairy Crest rounds today after a combined 61 years of service.
Mr Pledger, said: “I’ve gone past the retirement age and I thought while I am still fit enough to go on holidays and enjoy long weekends away, I would say goodbye to my milkman years.
“I worked as a milkman before working for Dairy Crest so in total I’ve spent 38 years getting up early six days a week. Now it is time to enjoy lie-ins and spending time with my family.”
Depot manager Darren Moggridge said: “Both David and Adrian have been fantastic characters to have around the depot and have provided important support to all their customers.
“Neither have ever questioned carrying out additional tasks for their customers, even if it means their rounds take longer than they should.
“They will both be missed by at the depot and by their customers but I’m happy to say we have equally friendly milkmen to manage their rounds.”
