An Indian restaurant has made it to the national final of a competition find the country’s best curry house.
Coriander, in Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, was nominated for the annual Tiffin Cup by MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner Nick Hurd.
Restaurants across the country are nominated by their local MPs for the competition which has been running since 2006.
Owner of the restaurant Salim Chowdhury said: “To be nominated as a regional finalist was great but to make it through to the national final is really exciting.
“The Tiffin Cup is held in the highest regard by the restaurant industry, we are thrilled to be through to the House of Commons cook-off.
“I’m very proud of the restaurant and it means a lot to have the public support and to be nominated by our MP. It means all the hard work has paid off.”
To make it through of the regional round a mystery diner visited Coriander to judge the eatery on its food, ambience, decor and service.
Last year readers of the Harrow Times voted Coriander, Restaurant of the Year 2013 and it was nominated both The British Curry Awards and the Asian Curry Awards.
