Temple members donates to foodbank
The congregation of a Hindu temple collected more than £1,800 worth of food for the borough’s foodbank.
The International Siddhashram Shakti Centre, in Palmerston Road Wealdstone encouraged its more than 300 members to donate during the month of “Shravan” when Hindus fast.
The temple asked worshippers to fast and give one meal to the needy during the religious month and the food was donated last week to Harrow Foodbank.
The foodbank was founded in May last year and provides three days of emergency food to people referred by one of its 12 partner organisations.
