A legal firm preparing for a charity quiz says it is privileged to take part in a contest for a worthy cause.
The team from Harold Benjamin Solicitors are gearing up to take part in the MasterMind in Harrow competition.
The quiz, which is its second year, is once again being organised by mental health charity Mind in Harrow in partnership with the Harrow Times.
Harold Benjamin, which has been based Harrow since 1990, is one of the six legal firms to have signed up a teams for the University Challenge-style quiz at the historic Grims Dyke Hotel in February next year.
Between now and the big contest, each team from the six firms will have to raise a £1,200 entry fee which will go to Mind in Harrow.
Team captain Chris Sayers, a senior associate said: “Despite fierce competition between our lawyers all wanting to be involved in the competition, we now have our team finalised and preparations are going well.
“As lawyers we all tend to be a highly competitive bunch and the fact that we are playing against other local law firms will, I’m sure, increase the competitiveness and friendly rivalry even further.
“However, as much as we are all looking forward to taking part – and hopefully winning – the main reason we are participating is to support a very worthwhile local cause.
“We feel very privileged to have been asked to take part in what, I am sure, will be a very enjoyable event and it will be our pleasure to try to raise as much money as we can for Mind in Harrow and to help local people with mental health problems in the area.”
Earlier this year pupils from six different schools battled it out at Harrow School to be crowned the smartest in the borough and managed to raise £7,000 for the charity which supports people with mental health issues across the borough.
