With one month to go before the General Election, the Harrow Times is taking a look at who is standing in each constituency.
Harrow East is made up of the electoral wards of Belmont, Canon, Edgware, Harrow Weald, Kenton East and West, Queensbury, Stanmore Park and Wealdstone, and the electorate totals 72,537.
MP Bob Blackman has held the seat since 2010 – when he polled 44.7 per cent of votes - and will also be standing as the Conservative candidate in May.
The seat is one of Labour’s key targets for 2015 and his main challenger is its candidate Uma Kumaran, who has previously worked for the NHS.
Also running are the Liberal Democrats' Ross Barlow, Trade Union and Socialist Coalition candidate Nana Asante - a former Mayor and Harrow Councillor - and the Green Party’s Emma Wallace, a school librarian, as well as UKIP’s Aidan Powlesland.
