Having spent two weeks in Northwick Park Hospital, I would like to thank the nursing and medical teams for their excellent care.
As Northwick Park Hospital has such a bad name, (indeed, I dreaded the thought of being taken there), I must put pen to paper to try to allay fears of the wider community.
I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful medical team I had, who tried every investigation to alleviate my problem and kept me informed etc during my long stay.
The nursing care was beyond all my expectations, with most nurses being kind, patient, hard-working and so professional, which filled one with confidence and feeling of being in safe hands.
How they manage to keep so cheerful and full of energy at the end of a 12-hour shift is beyond me.
They have to cope every day with different procedures for each individual, with the doctors doing their rounds and ordering new medication etc, and managing with the nurses available.
All the sisters on the wards work as part of the team — one made my bed on her own because her nurses were busy elsewhere — as well as dealing with the endless paperwork and responsibilities.
Everyone should be made aware of the incredible job they all do 24/7.
They have a big thumbs-up from me along with a huge thank you.
The food is also much improved and served hot most days.
