Diabetes UK is calling on runners who are taking part in the Morrisons Great North Run on Sunday, September 13 to join its team and raise vital funds for people living with diabetes across the UK.
Runners will pass some of the UK’s most famous landmarks along the route, including the Tyne Bridge, where there will be a fly-by from the legendary Red Arrows.
The closing date to apply to join Team Diabetes UK is Sunday July 5, so please don’t leave it too late to get on board.
Each person who runs for Team Diabetes UK will receive fundraising and training advice, crazy hair and a personalised Diabetes UK running top.
After crossing the finish line, they will also be invited to celebrate their success at the post-event cool down party, where massage therapists will be on hand to ease those aching muscles.
By running the 13.1-mile course from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to South Shields for Team Diabetes UK, runners will raise funds that make a real difference and help the charity to support people living with diabetes – a serious condition that, left undiagnosed or poorly managed, can lead to devastating long term complications, including blindness, heart disease and stroke.
The Morrisons Great North Run is a fantastic challenge and we would love for you to join our team.
