A person was taken to hospital following a crash on the M1.

Emergency services were called the M1 J2 and 4 at 5.31pm yesterday, to reports of two people being trapped in a car following an accident.

One person was taken to a central London hospital and remains there in a stable condition, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An anonymous driver said: “I got on at the Watford junction at around 7.30pm and I was immediately faced with chock-a-block traffic.

“I was stuck there for two hours and didn’t understand why they hadn’t just closed the junction even two afters after.

“While I appreciate the efforts of the emergency services, it was a really poor way to handle the situation.”
