Children being treated for cancer at a hospital got to pretend to be whatever they wanted to be for a day.
A group of 120 children being treated at Barnet Hospital and their families went to KidZania at Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush.
There, they could dress up and find out what it was like to be pilots, doctors, nurses and firefighters.
Unpredictably, the most popular job was being a window cleaner.
“I think it’s because they seemed to get paid the most in that job and could then spend their tokens in the shop or doing different activities,” said Carla Bispham, community fundraiser for the Barnet Hospital Charity.
The Helping Hands fund, part of the Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Charity made this outing possible.
While children played, their relatives enjoyed a massage and could share their experiences with other families whose children also had cancer or leukaemia.
For Christmas, children will get to see Cinderella as the charity is planning to take them to the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar.
