A library is undergoing New Year improvement works so it can “better meet residents’ needs”.
Kenton Library, in Kenton Lane, Harrow, will be closed until March 1 for renovation and technological instalments.
The building, which was built in the 1930s and is listed, will undergo redecoration, while the original wooden shelving and parquet flooring will be restored.
A new public toilet will be installed, while a dedicated study area for young people will be created with improvements to the stock layout and guiding.
Study spaces in general will be improved, including the introduction of power and USB points.
Users of Kenton Library can return and renew their loaned out items to any branch, while the nearest libraries in the meantime are at Gayton and Wealdstone.
Items may be renewed by phone on 0333 370 4700 – press 2 followed by 4 for Harrow Libraries.
