Hype and Fever, from Harrow, are a DJ, MC performance and production duo, consisting of the Kala-Lee brothers: Naveen (DJ ,Hype Hyphen) and Bhumeet (Vocals/production, Cold Fever).
The pair have just released an EP called The Burbs. They cut, match and mix the rhythms of their Jamaican and Indian heritage into a unique and experimental vibe that boasts individuality and innovation. Hype and Fever create an evocative and contemporary mélange by combining mainstream with the underground; where city streets meet suburban driveways.
Their music began to receive support from taste-makers at BBC Asian Network, and BBC Introducing, which saw them play Maida Vale and set fire to festival stages to include: BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury, BoomTown, Seadance, Kaya, and Exit.
BBC Asian Network, BBC Radio 1, 1xtra and Reprezent Radio, as well as regionals, have continued to spin Hype and Fever productions.
Last year saw Hype and Fever return to the studio where they’ve been busy melding new material together and achieving collaborations with major artists including: Beenie Man, Mykal Rose and Spragga Benz.
