Celebrity baker Suzy Pelta is coming to Churchill Retirement Living’s Heath Lodge development in Pinner for a special Warming Morning to raise funds for Michael Sobell Hospice.
At 10.30am on Friday, February 22, everyone is welcome to step out of the cold and into the warmth of Heath Lodge’s cosy Owners’ Lounge, where they can join Suzy for a baking demonstration, acquire a signed copy of her latest book, Miracle Mug Cakes and Other Cheat’s Bakes, and enjoy coffee and cake in return for a small donation.
All of the money raised will go to Michael Sobell Hospice at Mount Vernon Hospital, which provides care, comfort and support for local people facing life-limiting illness.
Suzy said: “I’m looking forward to demonstrating some easy baking recipes at Heath Lodge. It’s going to be a lot of fun and all to raise money for a fantastic local charity. It won’t be my first visit to the Lodge, as I’m pleased to say my dad moved into a new apartment there last November, where he’s settling in well. It’s a pleasure to be able to take part in an event like this, to meet some of his new and possible future neighbours, and share some of my miracle mug cake recipes with everyone.”
Yvette Christy, Regional Marketing Manager for Churchill Retirement Living, added: “We’re delighted to have Suzy joining us for our Warming Morning event to raise funds for such a worthwhile local cause. Every penny counts, which is why we’re asking as many people as possible to come along and support the event and make a donation in return for the refreshments on offer. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn a few baking tips and enjoy a bit of indulgence, as well as experiencing the lifestyle on offer at the Lodge.”
Churchill’s Warming Mornings events take place throughout February at its retirement developments across the country, with all the money raised going towards local causes. The development that raises the most will also have its total matched by Churchill’s charitable arm, the Churchill Foundation, boosting the coffers even further.
