Visitors to a recycling centre in Brent will have to book a time slot as part of a new system launching on Thursday (June 25).
Brent Council announced that a booking system will soon be in place for its tip in Abbey Road.
Run by West London Waste, those planning to use the site will have to book in advance or they will be refused entry.
The council explained that this should hopefully improve customers’ experience by alleviating queueing times.
Since it reopened in May, visitors to the centre have been met with waiting times of up to three hours.
It added that it will make health and safety measures, which have naturally increased due to the Covid-19 pandemic, easier to implement.
Residents are reminded to sort their waste ahead of visiting since they will have a limited time on the site.
A booking system is also set to be put in place in neighbouring Harrow, where the council has suffered similar problems at its tip in Forward Drive.
Part of the same collaborative waste authority as Brent, it intends to reveal further details later this week.
