The Conservative Party has won today's by-election.
Husain Akhtar won the Canons ward seat on Harrow Council in a landslide victory.
He polled 1,208 votes, compared to 389 votes for Richard Harrod (Lab), and 296 votes for Anne Diamond (Lib Dem).
Independent, and former conservative candidate, Marcello Borgese won 182 votes, with British National Party candidate Howard Studley coming in last with 56 votes.
The turnout was 24.03 per cent, and 753 people voted by post.
