A schoolboy plummeted 60 feet to his death from the balcony of his family's eighth floor flat, an inquest heard.

Donnel Arthur-Bonful, 13, was described as a high-achieving student at St Gregory’s Catholic Science College in Kenton.

On September 7, he fell from the eight floor flat and landed on a lower balcony of the tower block near Wembley Stadium, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

His sister had gone to wake him up for school at around 7am, the hearing was told, but he wasn't in bed.

Donnel was found by the resident of a lower flat.

Despite the efforts of police and paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On February 25 - the final day of his inquest - a coroner concluded his death was "the consequences of a fall."

The inquest heard how a post-mortem revealed the teen had suffered "multiple traumatic injuries."

The hearing was told that police examined his phone as part of their investigation into his death, but found no information relevant to the incident.

Coroner Andrew Walker QC said: "On September 7, 2020, Donnel Arthur-Bonful suffered fatal injuries when he fell from a balcony outside his home.

"Donnel Arthur-Bonful, having suffered multiple traumatic injuries in keeping with a fall from height, the conclusion I shall be recording will be 'consequences of a fall.'"

Addressing the teenagers parents, who attended via videolink, he added: "I offer you my deepest sympathies at this time."
