Health Secretary Matt Hancock has praised clinical commissioning groups in Harrow for achieving one of the highest Covid-19 vaccinations uptakes in the country.
According to the health secretary, over 80 per cent of people aged 80 and over and in care homes, have now received a Covid vaccination jab.
In separate letters addressed to Harrow East MP Bob Blackman and Harrow West MP Gareth Thomas, Mr Hancock said Harrow has “led the way” on how to achieve vaccination targets in a “very diverse” population.
Mr Hancock wrote: “I am delighted to inform you that Harrow was one of the highest performing Covid vaccination teams in the country.
“Harrow has a multi PCN approach enabling all patients to avail themselves of vaccines across the CCG.
“They have completed over 80 per cent of the 80 plus cohort and care homes and have made excellent progress on 75 plus cohort.
“Harrow has also led the way on how to achieve the targets in a very diverse population.”
He continued: “It’s incredible to see this community spirit, as people pull together to lead us collectively out of the pandemic.
“I hope you will join me in thanking and congratulating all those involved in your area for the part they are playing in this national effort.”
In the latest weekly updated figures from NHS England on February 25, there has been a total of 76,375 doses in Harrow under the North West London Health and Care Partnership.
