A planned 20mph speed limit in a road in Harrow is now set to be extended.

A notice from Harrow Council in this week’s edition of the Harrow Times states it wants to amend a notice that was placed in this newspaper in March 26 regarding the proposed new limit in High Street.

The council now wishes to extend the planned 20mph speed limit in High Street between Ellen Webb Drive and George Gange Way, to now cover the length of the road between Ellen Webb Drive and Locket Road.

In addition, the prohibited right turn from The Bridge to George Gange Way would not apply to taxis.

Meanwhile, the council is also bringing in temporary traffic restrictions in two other roads in the area while utility works are carried out.

Temporary waiting and loading restrictions are set to be introduced in Warden Avenue from 8am on Friday.

These will apply between a point opposite the eastern boundary wall of No. 18 and a point opposite the western boundary wall of No. 24.

The order could remain in effect until August 24 but the works are expected to be completed by Thursday.

Temporary waiting and loading measures are also due to be implemented in Grant Road from 8am on Monday.

These will apply on the north side of the road between a point opposite the extended kerb-line of High Street, Wealdstone, and a point opposite the eastern boundary wall of No. 2a Grant Road.

This order could stay in place until August 23, but the works are anticipated to be finished by Wednesday.
