Motorists in the Harrow area are facing disruption due to the temporary closure of several streets for roadworks.
Notices from Harrow Council in this week’s edition of the Harrow Times detail the extent of the planned closures and any other measures that may be necessary while the works are undertaken.
Aberdeen Road is set to be closed between its junction with Locket Road and a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 30 and 32 from 8am on Tuesday.
The order could remain in effect until October 30 but it is expected the works should be completed by September 30.
The diversion will be via Grant Road, Stirling Road, Locket Road and vice versa.
Later on Tuesday, a section of The Avenue, Hatch End, is set to be closed for a short time for works.
From 9pm to 11.30pm, vehicles will be prohibited from exiting The Avenue at its junction with Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, and also prevented from travelling in an eastbound direction on Uxbridge Road between its junctions with The Avenue and Milne Field.
The alternative route for the closure of The Avenue will be via Cedar Drive, Rowlands Avenue and Uxbridge Road.
For the closure of Uxbridge Road, it will be via St Thomas Drive, George V Avenue, Pinner Road, Station Road, Parkside Way, Headstone Gardens, Harrow View and Courtenay Avenue.
Alveston Avenue, between its junction with Christchurch Avenue and a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 14 and 16, is due to be closed between 8am and 5pm from October 11.
These works are expected to be finished by October 13 and the diversion will be via Christchurch Avenue, Oakfield Avenue, Hartford Avenue and vice versa.
From 8am to 5pm on October 13, another temporary closure order is due to take effect in The Circuits, between its junction with Cuckoo Hill and its eastern extremity.
It is anticipated these works will be finished by October 15.
Kenton Lane, between its junction with Curzon Avenue and a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 515 and 517, is also set to be temporarily closed next month.
This order will take effect from 8am to 5pm on October 25 and the work is expected to take two days to complete.
During this time, the diversion will be via Belmont Circle, Weston Drive, Wemborough Road, Abercorn Road, Old Church Lane, Church Road and Uxbridge Road.
