A house in a London borough where people make £29,000-a-year on average is on the market for an eye-watering £4.6 million.
The seven-bed property is described by estate agent Wilson Hawkins as “one of the finest family homes in Harrow-on-the-Hill”.
Believed to have been built at the end of the 19th Century, it also boasts five bathrooms, four reception rooms and a heated swimming pool.
This part of the city, known affectionately as “The Hill”, is generally expensive, but this home costs around nine times the average for the post code, according to estate agent Foxtons.

The estate agency also highlights the extreme differences in house prices across the borough as a whole, with some properties going for around £160,000 and others fetching millions of pounds.
According to software company Payscale, the average salary in Harrow is £29,000 a year, which would enable a potential homeowner to borrow around £110,000 towards buying a property.
In its latest draft borough plan, announced last year, Harrow Council said it wants to build more affordable homes and reduce wealth inequalities in the borough.
Harrow Council leader Cllr Graham Henson said: “There are significant differences in our local communities with some areas amongst the most deprived in the country, while neighbouring streets can be amongst the most affluent.”
The Mount Park Road property comes with 2.75 acres of land and is situated at the end of a long, gated private driveway.
It is advertised as housing a study that could also double up as a prayer room, a guest cloakroom and a double garage.
Harrow-on-the-Hill is home to several private schools, including Harrow School, and the 12th century St Mary’s Church.
