Tributes have poured in after Marvin Morgan, a former Football League striker and fashion designer who launched his career in Wealdstone, died.
Morgan, who played for 17 clubs during his football career, died at the age of 38.
The former striker and designer of the ‘Fresh Ego Kid’ fashion brand was born in Manchester but grew up in Watford.
Although he started his football career with Wealdstone, he also played for various teams including Dagenham & Redbridge and Hendon, but he was more prominently known for his time at Shrewsbury Town FC between 2011 and 2013.
He broke through the Wealdstone Academy and made his first team debut at 16 in 2000, where he spent four years with the stones and became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer.
Morgan was signed by Yeading in 2004 and from there went on to a series of other clubs.
He returned to non-league and returned to the Stones for a loan spell in early 2016 in the National League South, where he played eight times, scoring once.
In a tribute for Morgan, Wealdstone FC said: “Marvin was an incredibly popular character during his time with the club.
“He leaves us just 38 years old, with a young family who our thoughts and prayers are all with at this desperately sad time.”
Shrewsbury Town Football Club is deeply saddened to receive news that Marvin Morgan has tragically passed away aged just 38.

The Club would like to send our most sincere condolences to his friends and family. Rest in Peace, Marvin.
Hendon Football Club, another of Morgan’s former clubs, had tweeted a message of condolence but it has since been removed until a formal statement is released.
His ‘Fresh Ego Kid’ fashion brand was enough to strike the attention of multiple Premiere League players including Romelu Lukaku and Harry Maguire – who shared out their own tributes online.
In an Instagram story, Lukaku wrote: “This is some s**t news man… RIP my brother, you will be missed”.
Meanwhile West Ham midfielder Declan Rice said: “One of the most clean hearted, happy, loving person you could meet! Totally shocked, RIP.”
