London Overground staff are set to join Tube workers in strike action after talks between unions and transport bosses collapsed.
The industrial action is set to impact much of the capital's train services, with a 24-hour walkout from workers on August 19.
Tube workers are taking strike action in disputes over pensions and jobs with Transport for London.
Whilst Overground workers that are employed by Arriva Rail London will strike over pay.
It comes as unions say they have not had reassurance from transport providers that there would be no reduction in jobs or changes to pensions and working conditions.
This isn't the first strike of the summer, as more than 40,000 union members for over 12 train companies will strike on August 12,18 and 20.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: “This strike action by our members on London Underground and the Overground is yet another demonstration of how transport workers refuse to accept a raw deal.
“TfL have had ample opportunity to be transparent about the funding they will receive and to give tube workers the assurances they need.
“Yet they have totally failed to give those guarantees."
Adding a warning to London commuters, saying: "There will be significant disruption on August 19 but TfL and Arriva Rail London bear responsibility for this break down in industrial relations."
