A man has died after being hit by a vehicle.
Emergency services were called near the junction of St Andrews Close and Culver Grove in Stanmore at 12.15am today (August 7) after a member of the public found an injured man.
A man, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 1am.
His next of kind has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
However police are currently unsure about the details leading up to this death as there were no reports of road traffic collision in the area.
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens said: “We are keeping an open mind as to whether this man has been struck by a motorist who did not realise, or whether the motorist has knowingly left the scene.”
An appeal has launched for anyone who walked or drove along the stretch of road around that time to check dash cam footage.
