Cat killed in horrific Harrow firework attack

The owner of Domino the cat was left devastated after she found the remains of her beloved pet scattered in her garden along with parts of a firework last Tuesday (October 25).

Domino, 4, went missing on October 23 after last being seen at the family home in Moorhouse Road, Harrow.

Her brother Waffle also went missing on the same day, but returned home on the day acting very nervously.

Domino’s owner frantically searched the area after her disappearance and was distraught when she found the remains of her cat.

Parts of her body were found scattered around the garden, her fur had been singed and was burned, part of her left-hand side was missing including her ribs, and her head could not be found.

Items which looked like firework plastic shrapnel pellets were also found all over the garden - along with a rocket. A stick and some more pellets were also later found in a neighbour’s garden.

The family, who do not wish to be named, were left shocked and devastated by the cruelty towards their beloved pet, who they described as sweet, loving and skittish - an extremely beautiful and much-loved family pet.

The owner said that last Monday night, she recalls hearing the sound of a firework and something similar to a scream.

Domino’s owner also claims she saw a tall and slim figure of someone in her summer house that same night at 8pm.

According to the RSPCA, whoever had been in there had also left the door open after they left.

RSPCA Inspector Simon Hoggett is investigating this incident. He said: “I am shocked and appalled by what has happened to poor Domino and my heart goes out to her poor owner and family.

“This was a wicked and cruel act towards a defenceless animal and I am keen to find the person responsible for Domino’s death.
