A road in Harrow was shut by police after a water main burst lifted the road surface and gushed into the street.
Kenton Road was closed on Monday (August 7) after water sprayed from the ruptured asphalt.
A video of the leak posted to Instagram showed a police car blocking the road, while kerbstones on either side were submerged.
Some motorists seemed undeterred by the flooding, with one motorcyclist appearing to ride straight through it.
Kenton Road was eventually closed both ways between St Leonards Avenue and Kenton Lane, forcing the diversion of bus routes 114, 183, 223, H9, H10 and H19.
The burst came just a day after Honeypot Lane in Queensbury was shut while water mains work was carried out.
Affinity Water has been contacted for more information about the two incidents.
